Canadian Golf Car

This is for all of my Canadian friends. It's a golf car and I don't know how it got through the Orange-headed Monster's immigration check, but I've heard Canadians are very clever people.

Iconic Florida House

This home is located in our neighborhood, just a few blocks from where we live. I became enamored of it the first time I saw the place - it just looks the way a Florida house should look.

The first photo was shot a couple of weeks ago and you can see the vegetation has been attacked by ol' man winter.  The second photo was taken mid-summer and gives you an idea of the beautiful flora surrounding this place.

Paving Target's Parking Lot

This shot was taken in the middle of the day. You can imagine what a mess this paving created. Target customers were going in circles trying to find a parking spot.

Having Fun on the Marjorie Harris Carr Cross Florida Greenway (Ocala Section)

Traditional biking is very popular

Biking the Greenway

Ocala has part of the Florida Greenway. It's a six-mile loop through different types of vegetation and goes from relatively flat land to a hilly plateau. Biking is one of the most popular activities you'll find on the Greenway. And recumbent bikes are becoming more numerous. This gentleman had what appeared to be a modified recumbent in that he sat more upright on the bike.

Restored Model A Ford?

I do believe this is a Model A Ford, nicely restored.

Rainbow Springs Swimming Area

On the day this photo was taken (a few weeks ago) the weather was coolish. Few people were at the park as it was midweek, and as I said, coolish. The water in the swimming area, which you see pictured, is always 72 degrees F (year-round). That's too cold for me but many younger people such as my grandchildren seem to have no problem with it.

If you look closely at the center of the photo, you will see a man swimming.  His wife was also in the water, but off to the right, out of the picture. This swimming area is infested with alligators so one must be careful, but we saw no gators that day; just these two people, who upon further scrutiny, appeared to be in their 70s. I don't think that's very old anymore, but it's too old to be swimming in 72 degree water on a coolish day for crying out loud!

Glass Bottom Boats at Silver Springs State Park

These glass bottom boats have been around for many years and they are still in service and available to people who visit the Silver Springs State Park.  The first shot shows the landing, loading and debarking area.  The other two boats are moving in a circular motion above the head of the springs, where hundreds of thousands of gallons of 99% plus pure water pours out every day.

It is in this area that you can see artifacts used in the "I Spy" TV series still in place on the bottom of the river.

Loving Life

Our great-grandson, Aiden Lowell, loving life!

The CDP theme for February is "Loving Life."  You can check other takes on the theme HERE.
