Every year for many years, the residents of this house dress a cross on their lawn with a purple drape during the Lenten season. I posted a photo of this lenten cross a few years back but we drove by the other day and were surprised to find the draped cross still there as Lent was over as was Easter so naturally I had to take another picture! Perhaps they got their signals crossed?

There once was a man named Darrell
who decided to open a diner
It was such a success
he thought more was less
so he opened an additional four.
Now there are Darrell's everywhere
you'll find them all over Ocala
and there are two in my neighborhood.
we eat breakfast at Darrell's quite often
the food is really quite good.

I've posted photos of this car previously. It has been spotted at a couple of places in town. For the past several months it's been parked in front of our local Barnes & Nobles book store.
I have no idea what it's all about, but the owner has added a substantial number of new posters to try to get his or her message out to the world.

It used to be, when Silver Springs Park existed, there were about 7-8 of these glass bottom boats which, loaded with tourists and locals, traversed the Silver River to allow a look at the headsprings, the varieties of fish, gators, turtles, anhingas, and assorted other wildlife - even monkeys for a time.
There are just 2-3 left. Silver Springs Park no longer exists. The property is now part of the State of Florida's Silver River State Park. The rides, the kid's zoo, the carousel, the river boat rides - all gone.
It's still a nice place to visit, but most of the fun has been removed.
The boat pictured, is one of the last glass bottom boat survivors.
