First Baptist Church - Ocala

Of the more than 200 Baptist churches in the Ocala area, First Baptist is undoubtedly the largest and most impressive. It is a huge complex sitting on several acres on the southeast side of town.

Beautiful photos Lowell...I love taking photos of different church architecture....this one is really
beautiful. This is a sight that I never did see when living in Ocala. Thanks for sharing such beautiful photos. It looks amazingly warm and beautiful down there and as I write this to you I'm watching the snow fall like crazy again...this is unheard of...really insane weather lately. Those blue skies look so inviting. Thanks for all your comments on my blog and I really appreciate, especially your continued support and enthusiasm of my daughter Maureen...I really am so proud of her. I'm hoping your wife is recovering well. Sending you both hugs and prayers that she will be up and at em' real soon.

This looks very big, very tidy, and impressive.

To me, this looks more like a town hall than a church!

It's a beauty! The colours in your 2nd shot are fabulous, Lowell.

Wow, Lowell, they are gorgeous!

This looks kind of like a New England church, except that most of them are entirely of wood, not brick.

They tend to make rather large churches. Kind of plain but big.

Gorgeous photos, Lowell, especially the first one!

HUGE! It must have a large congregation so it must sound joyous whenever they sing hymns.

It has some nice details for a newer building. The pictures are lovely.

I enjoyed your impromptu poem about the bear on my post yesterday. Made me smile.

That church certainly has a New England look to it.

I was already impressed by the spire and columns, but "several acres" just clinched it.

Beautiful photos of a handsome building.

Love the steeple.
