Going, going, gone!

While Lois Anne was shopping in a bookstore I relaxed on a bench. Naturally, I had a camera. These electricians arrived with their hoisting machine; drove up the sidewalk and then back again. On their way back, they stopped and disappeared through a hole in the roof. I don't know what happened to them after that as Lois Anne appeared and we went on our way. But I had captured their electric antics with my trusty camera!

Boys and their toys. Isn't it great to always have your camera with you. So much fun.

Well, Jacob, I do think you have a way of scaring people away. But don't take it personally . . . .

Thank goodness you DID finally post a Sunday posting. I was getting really worried about you. I thought your palm tree fell on you by your pool!!

I thought you were going to say the credit union was gone.

Maybe they were breaking in and robbing the place. No one would suspect, because they look like they belong there.

Technology's made things so easy! Nice series of photos and what a perfect title! Great post Jacob!

Sorry I haven't commented for a couple of days but looked now at your past pix. Maybe it would have been fun to join them on their hoist.Like climbing a tree when you were young. Btw. I haven't felt frightened on hikes other than concern over twisting an ankle. Most big cats are shy and stay away from people and besides I don't care for guns which prob doesn't surprise you.

I bet there's a poker game going on up there. :)

You don't think it was an alien abduction do you?

Jacob, you must be like me. I carry my camera just about everywhere. You never know what you're going to see but if you leave it at home you'll wish you didn't.

I love this series, and the stretchable green machine. I wonder if this is the type they call a "cherry picker"? In any event, I like photo #3 a lot, and the series is fun.

something akin to the indian rope trick!

I'm glad you didn't drive off with their vehicle while they were wandering around in the ether.

I thought the Florida Credit Union was going, going, gone - after seeing the first frame; and was going to say: a sign of the times.

Lois said...

I hope nobody moved the vehicle while they were up there! I've gotten mad at myself too many times now to leave my camera at home. I take it everywhere because there always seems to be something to take a picture of. Sometimes I embarrass my kids.

Lowell said...

@ Lois - Keep carrying the camera...if you don't, you may miss the shot of a lifetime. No second chances. And the kids will get over their failure to understand and resultant embarrassment! :-)

Lowell said...

@ Memphis - You may be right! I hadn't thought about that scenario...they could be up in the ceiling of the credit union right now drilling down into the vault or safe or whatever.

Sheesh. No wonder you're a good poker player and bridge player and ... _________. (fill in the blank - there is no wrong answer).

:-))

Well if they *were* robbing the place, then Jacob and his trusty camera were there to capture them and save the day! A hero!

There are trapdoors and secret passageways everywhere!

Wish me too go with that contraption ...
:-)

Did the workers mind having their photos taken? Sometimes I feel shy about taking photos of strangers...and sometimes not.

They're robbing the place - They'll have someone else come by & p/u that contraption & then they'll enter the store of their choice after closing & TAKE WHAT THEY WANT! But you have em on camera, so beware! Hahahaa

Maybe there was a private party up there.

Oh I thought that Florida Credit Union was going out of business or changing its name .. silly me..

@ EG - I don't think they knew I was taking their picture...or, if they did they didn't much care...

I'm a sneaky cuss!

I love it! I was stopped at a gas station on a trip to Portland, Ore., a couple of weeks ago and watched two men go up in a cherry-picker to replace some lights in the Subway sign. As I continued to glance up, I realized one of them had disappeared. Lights were coming out from the top of the sign, and the one man left on the cherry-picker would take them, but you couldn't see where they were coming from. It made me laugh.

cieldequimper said...

Once they had disappeared, I would have taken a ride! Cool shots, fun photos!

Marie-Noyale said...

If you didn't read anything about a robbery at Credit Union ...
then they were just electricians!!!!

Lowell said...

@ Becky - Where was your camera???? ;-)

Watching this sequence after reading the title really made me laugh! So very funny, Jacob! :-)
